Job summary

Altrad is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Planner to support the planning and delivery of mechanical construction activities on the Hinkley Point C project in Bridgewater.

The role involves developing and maintaining detailed Level 5 schedules and four-week lookahead plans, ensuring alignment with wider programme milestones, and providing evidence-based progress updates to enable safe, predictable delivery by integrated construction teams.

Qualifications

• HNC in engineering discipline required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in construction planning.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining construction schedules.
• Understanding of sequencing, progress measurement and quantity tracking.
• Ability to integrate engineering, materials, access and commissioning into plans.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a regulated construction environment.
• Experience in nuclear/heavy industry or major infrastructure is advantageous.
• Commitment to health, safety, quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed Level 5 mechanical construction schedules.
• Prepare and update four-week lookahead plans.
• Ensure schedules align with 16-week lookahead milestones.
• Establish activity-level progress and quantity measurement.
• Track progress and installed quantities against plan.
• Provide schedule progress updates based on evidence.
• Collaborate with engineering, materials, access, and commissioning teams.
• Confirm activity readiness with construction and delivery teams.
• Identify constraints and risks; escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate planning information reflecting site progress.
• Provide visibility of readiness, productivity, and performance.
• Support overall programme delivery with MEH Planning teams.
