Job summary

Ad Warrior is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Planner to support the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C project. The role will develop and maintain detailed Level 5 mechanical construction schedules and four-week lookahead plans to ensure readiness and progress tracking.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, materials, access, and commissioning teams to align activities with the wider MEH programme, delivering accurate progress updates and identifying risks

Qualifications

  • HNC in any engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a construction planning environment.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining construction schedules, ideally within a large-scale engineering or construction project.
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing, progress measurement and quantity tracking.
  • Ability to integrate engineering, materials, access, resources, quality and commissioning requirements into construction plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify constraints and programme risks.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with construction, engineering, project controls and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed mechanical Level 5 construction schedules.
  • Prepare, maintain and update mechanical four-week lookahead plans.
  • Ensure mechanical schedules are aligned with the 16-week lookahead and key milestones.
  • Establish activity-level progress and quantity measurement requirements.
  • Measure construction progress and track installed quantities against planned outputs.
  • Provide accurate, evidence-based schedule progress updates.
  • Integrate engineering, materials, access, resources, quality and commissioning requirements into construction planning activities.
  • Confirm activity readiness with construction and delivery teams.
  • Identify construction constraints, risks and potential programme impacts, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Provide clear visibility of construction readiness, productivity and schedule performance to support safe and predictable delivery.
  • Work with MEH Planning and Project Control teams to support overall programme delivery.
  • Maintain accurate planning information and ensure schedule data reflects progress on site.

Mechanical Construction Planner

We are seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Construction Planner to support the planning and delivery of mechanical construction activities within the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C.

The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed mechanical Level 5 construction schedules and four-week lookahead plans. Working as part of the MEH Planning and Project Control function, the role will provide accurate, evidence-based progress information and support visibility of construction readiness, productivity, constraints and schedule risks.

The successful candidate will work closely with construction and delivery teams to integrate engineering, materials, access, resources, quality and commissioning requirements, ensuring planned activities are ready for execution and aligned with the wider MEH programme.

Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:

  • Clear identification and communication of construction readiness, constraints and schedule risks.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
  • HNC in any engineering discipline.
