Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer on behalf of a leading consultancy focused on healthcare and education. The role combines hands-on design with project management and commercial responsibility, reporting to a Principal Design Engineer.

You will develop projects from sketches through detailed design, liaising with clients and supervising engineers while supporting internal standards and CPD. A senior, independent approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of mechanical building services principles.
• Strong mechanical building services design experience including energy assessment.
• Ability to develop projects from concept to delivery.
• Knowledge of UK standards, codes, and regulations.
• Experience in building surveys and producing technical reports.
• Ability to supervise and support engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop initial sketch designs and design briefs in response to client requirements.
• Undertake detailed mechanical building services design, including energy assessments.
• Take responsibility for selection and development of engineering systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and communicate design requirements to CAD Technicians.
• Manage project costs, programmes and quality to meet client expectations.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians and trainees.
• Contribute to internal engineering standards and procedures.
