Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical building services design projects across healthcare, education, commercial and more. You will mentor engineers and drive low‑carbon building solutions within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team in the UK.

You will own projects from concept to completion, supervise calculations and technical reports, and present to clients while developing long-term client relationships and pursuing Chartered status

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Around 4+ years’ experience within a Building Services consultancy.
• Experience designing mechanical systems across a range of building sectors.
• Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Experience using industry-standard design software including Revit and associated mechanical design packages.
• Understanding of sustainable building design, renewable technologies and low‑carbon solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer status through CIBSE or IMechE.

Responsibilities

• Leading the mechanical design of building services projects.
• Managing project delivery from feasibility through construction.
• Acting as Project Lead on selected commissions.
• Producing and reviewing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Attending design meetings and presenting directly to clients.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Helping develop long-term client relationships and generate repeat business.
• Delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across a wide range of projects.
