Job summary

NHS Shetland in Lerwick is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to assist midwives in the Maternity Department, providing compassionate care to women and babies. You will join a small team, work flexibly across day and night shifts and weekends, and contribute to the wider reproductive health service.

PVG clearance is required or updated where applicable. This substantive post is for 14.4 hours per week, Band 3, with a pro rata salary and Distant Island Allowance to reflect the island

Qualifications

• Experience in a caring environment.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and use initiative.
• Willing to work day, night shifts and weekends.
• PVG scheme requirement or update preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to midwives within the Maternity department.
• Work as part of a small team to deliver high quality patient care.
• Contribute to the wider reproductive health service when required.
