Job summary

NHS Shetland in Lerwick is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to assist midwives in the Maternity Department, providing compassionate care to women and babies. You will join a small team, work flexibly across day and night shifts and weekends, and contribute to the wider reproductive health service.

PVG clearance is required or updated where applicable. This substantive post is for 14.4 hours per week, Band 3, with a pro rata salary and Distant Island Allowance to reflect the island

Band 3 - Salary Range £29,103 - £31,409 per annum (pro rata)
Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum (pro rata)
Are you someone who has an interest in health care particularly that of child bearing women and their babies? As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker you would work as a valued member of our small team providing support to and working under the direction of midwives within the Maternity department. There is also an opportunity to work within the wider reproductive health service which includes the sexual health clinic. You will be expected to work both day and night shifts as well as weekends.
You will have experience working within a caring environment, have effective communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative to work without direct supervision.
