Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stafford is recruiting a Senior Maternity Support Worker (Band 3). The role supports the midwife and multidisciplinary team across antenatal, fetal medicine and screening services, with rotating duties across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will work under supervision to provide personal care and develop your competencies, with opportunities to progress under Health Education England frameworks.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English / Functional Skills Maths and English Level 1 or equivalent.
• Full Care Certificate or willingness to work towards.
• NVQ Level 3 (equivalent or higher) in health and social care or health related subject or willingness to work towards.
• 12 Months Experience in a professional Contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
• Experience working within the acute setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist, support and work in collaboration with the midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe and holistic women-centred care.
• Support and cover in all areas of Antenatal Clinic, including the Fetal Medicine Department and Screening Department.
• The midwife remains responsible for care; MSW works under supervision in rotational settings (antenatal inpatient/outpatient, intrapartum and postnatal care).

Education

GCSE Maths and English / Functional Skills Maths and English Level 1 or equivalent
