Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Senior Patient Administrator for the Maternity team at West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth. The role runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, focusing on front-line admin support and coordination with clinicians and patients.

You will supervise junior staff, maintain effective communication, and ensure Cerner systems are used to optimise patient pathways and service delivery.

Qualifications

• English and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent.
• Experience working in an administrative role in a busy office.
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet competing demands.
• Flexible approach and ability to use own initiative.
• Experience supervising administrative staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader in staff management, workload prioritisation, supervision and training targets.
• Ensure timely, polite, confidential handling of enquiries and escalation as needed.
• Proactively manage patient pathways to deliver high-quality service.
• Lead orientation and induction of new staff and oversee training.
• Organise and prioritise workload with minimal supervision and ensure reception cover.
