Job summary

Safran Seats GB in Cwmbran, South Wales, is seeking a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer. The role focuses on developing, implementing and maintaining Materials and Processes within Engineering to support design for manufacture and cost for Seats products.

The position spans design, manufacturing, qualification of processes, and governance of tests, with emphasis on aerospace alloys and finishing processes. Hybrid working in the UK is available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with light alloys and steel grades used in aerospace.
• Experience with metallic qualification programs for detail parts, assemblies and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Support towards Design, Develop and Industrialisation activities.
• Governance and management of process qualification and process control.
• Develop and implement new Materials and Processes across Safran Seats GB products.
• Management of chemical substances relating to materials and parts used in Safran Seats GB.
• Governance and management of tests and associated database prioritising internal capability.
• Provide timely support to the supply chain and audit processes relating to materials and processes.
• Support Problem Solving activities within the engineering department and provide guidance as required.
• Generate and track KPI’s.
• Provide expertise and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
