Job summary

Allianz Commercial in London is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Marine Liability. You will take ownership of significant accounts, negotiate terms and pricing, and act as a technical authority within the team.

You will mentor colleagues, build broker and client relationships, and contribute to regional strategy while ensuring governance and compliance across international programs. Hybrid working model offered.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience as an underwriter, broker or equivalent in Marine Liability.
• CII qualification or working towards it preferred.
• Experience underwriting profitable Marine Liability business for large international clients.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet profitability targets, negotiating terms with brokers.
• Evaluate catastrophe accumulation and interpret catastrophe modelling for relevant lines of business.
• Provide specialized technical leadership for at least one sub-Lob and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure contract certainty, use pricing tools and facilitate policy placement before inception.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to support growth.
