Job summary

Expleo Group is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to lead the design and development of geared transmission systems for marine applications. You will create new concepts, manage design changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with ISO, AGMA, DIN, FKM and DNV standards while delivering technical documentation and test procedures.

The role requires Chartered status or active professional membership, extensive experience in heavy regulation domains, and strong

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM discipline (Mechanical/Marine) or equivalent experience.
• Professional membership of a recognised engineering institution (e.g., IMechE, IMarEST, IMechE, IET).
• Experience in heavily regulated domains such as Marine, Aerospace or Defence.
• Experience applying ISO, AGMA, DIN, FKM, DNV standards and design codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design and development of geared transmission systems and components.
• Develop new designs and manage modifications throughout the lifecycle.
• Plan and schedule engineering outputs to meet milestones.
• Design gearbox test equipment and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs, standards, and GD&T.
• Lead design activities with cross-functional teams.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and supply chain.
• Mentor and develop team members.
