Job summary

James Fisher is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engine department on the Trent Fisher vessel, based in Grimsby. The role reports to the Master and ensures safe, compliant operation of all onboard technical systems and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• COC Chief Engineer STCW III/2 or equivalent valid certificate.
• Valid medical fitness for seafarers (ENG1 or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats and Advanced Fire Fighting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain safety standards during engine/technical activities.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of the engine room and marine equipment.
• Sign off maintenance work and prepare technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage subcontractor activities and risk assessments in the engine room.
