Job summary

SVITZER is seeking a Marine Engineer to operate and maintain all vessel machinery, with a clear path to progression as Chief Engineer. The role involves working across UK ports with rotating schedules and a focus on safety, maintenance, and leadership of the engineering team.

With company-sponsored training and certification, you will develop through funded programmes while contributing to safe, efficient towage operations across our Floating Pool.

Qualifications

• Hold STCW III/1 EOOW Small Vessel certificate.
• All STCW basic training valid (ENG1 Medical).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate vessel machinery and engines during operations.
• Maintain safe operation of vessels, engines, and generators.
• Lead and train engineering staff to ensure performance and safety.
• Coordinate maintenance and the Planned Maintenance System to keep equipment in top condition.
• Report faults promptly to the Master and Superintendent Engineer and coordinate repairs.
• Assist in dry-docking and survey planning to ensure smooth execution.
• Manage spare parts and supplies to support continuous operations.
• Comply with regulatory guidelines and maintain accurate paperwork.
