James Fisher in Grimsby is seeking a Chief Engineer to manage the technical department aboard the Trent Fisher, a tanker operating near Spurn Head on the East Coast.

Reporting to the Master, you will lead engine room activities, enforce the safety management system, prepare risk assessments, and oversee maintenance and budgets.

Qualifications

• COC Chief Engineer STCW III/2 is required.
• Valid ENG1 or equivalent medical fitness certificate required.
• Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats (CPSC) and Advanced Fire Fighting (STCW).
• PSDS competency and security awareness training.
• First Aid Medical Care On-board Certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engine department safety and the Safety Management System.
• Lead engine room and technical works with toolbox talks.
• Ensure equipment, permits and safe working conditions are in place.
• Maintain engine logbook and oil record book.
• Manage maintenance schedule and budget on board.
• Supervise subcontractors and interface with other departments.
