Markel’s London Market Claims team is seeking an experienced claims professional to manage a portfolio of Marine Liability claims and related classes. You will lead complex, high-value cases, working closely with underwriters, brokers, and clients to deliver timely, well-documented outcomes.

The role emphasizes governance and strong service standards, with opportunities to mentor juniors and contribute to improvements in the claims process. ACII accreditation is required or being pursued.

• Background and knowledge in Marine Liability is required.
• ACII accreditation or working towards it is expected.

Responsibilities

• Drive the claims philosophy and customer focus through actions and leadership.
• Take ownership for handling complex claims following policy and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with underwriting, brokers and clients to improve outcomes.
• Lead claims across all business types and mentor junior team members.
• Support ad hoc projects to enhance the claims function.
