Job summary

GKN Aerospace in Luton is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead production planning from concept through production, and to design high‑capability processes using ZDM tools. You will develop SOPs and documentation, manage introductions, and drive continuous improvements to reduce scrap and rework.

The role requires strong APQP knowledge, root cause analysis, and experience in aerospace manufacturing, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum HND qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering/Aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Lead production planning implementation from concept to production.
• Design high capability manufacturing processes using the ZDM tool suite and APQP core tools.
• Develop, document and optimise SOPs and Process Specifications.
• Create and update engineering documentation; manage introductions.
• Lead improvement activities to reduce scrap and rework.
• Provide MRB support for process deviations and faults.
• Present findings to senior stakeholders clearly.
