Job description

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Apply manufacturing engineering knowledge to support and develop electromechanical assembly processes.
• Interpret production drawings to identify tooling, manufacturing, handling, safety requirements, and estimate assembly times.
• Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions and shopfloor layouts.
• Conduct health and safety activities such as risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, and manual handling assessments.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and customers technically.
• Develop training packages on modern technologies and processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure Design for Manufacture considerations.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of production engineering principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
• HNC/D qualification in engineering.
• Understanding of engineering change documentation.
• Experience with SAP transactions and table structures (training provided).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

The team consists of 6 engineers supporting all build process steps, interacting with procurement, projects, stores, manufacturing, and engineering. It’s a fast-paced environment requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and planning skills.
