Job description

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

1. Apply manufacturing engineering knowledge to support and develop electromechanical assembly processes.
2. Interpret production drawings to determine tooling, manufacturing processes, safety requirements, assembly times, and routing methods.
3. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions and optimize shopfloor layouts.
4. Conduct health and safety assessments, including risk, COSHH, PUWER, and manual handling.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors and customers on technical issues.
6. Develop training programs for modern technologies and processes.
7. Collaborate with development teams to ensure Design for Manufacture considerations are integrated into new products.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of production engineering principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
• HNC/D qualification in engineering.
• Understanding of engineering change documentation.
• Experience with SAP transactions and table structures (training available).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

The team comprises 6 engineers supporting the entire build process, interfacing across departments such as Procurement, Projects, Stores, and Engineering. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and planning skills.
