Job description

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

1. Apply manufacturing engineering knowledge to support and develop electromechanical assembly processes.
2. Interpret production drawings to identify tooling, process, safety requirements, and estimate assembly times.
3. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions and shopfloor layouts.
4. Conduct health and safety assessments including risk, COSHH, PUWER, and manual handling.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors and customers technically.
6. Develop training on modern technologies and processes.
7. Collaborate with development teams for Design for Manufacture considerations.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of production engineering principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
• HNC/D qualification in engineering.
• Understanding of engineering change documentation.
• Familiarity with SAP transactions and table structures (training provided).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
