Senior Manager, Strategic Business Development

Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI) is an ambitious programme to enable the use of blockchain architecture for financial infrastructure. The initiative focuses on tokenization, trading, and settlement of financial instruments as digital assets, initially targeting the transformation of private markets and alternative investments. This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative project supported by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

We seek an experienced Business Development Manager to support the programme's go-to-market activities, including client engagement, targeted sales, and supporting the commercial strategy. The role involves interaction with Proposition Development, Product Delivery, Operations, Technology, and Regulation teams. Candidates with sales or business development experience in private markets or alternative investments targeting institutional clients are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Development Director, engaging with prospective clients and internal teams to communicate the value of digital assets, gather client requirements, refine platform features, and support the implementation of digital asset infrastructure across assets, chains, and jurisdictions.

Role responsibilities:
  1. Identify target clients and opportunities for LSEG's Digital Markets Infrastructure in private markets.
  2. Lead or support client business development activities, including meetings, events, and conferences.
  3. Collaborate with strategic account teams to understand client needs and identify opportunities.
  4. Document and communicate client insights, feature requests, and requirements for internal use.
  5. Identify opportunities for DMI to offer differentiated capabilities and add value.
  6. Record all client interactions in sales tools like Salesforce.
  7. Prepare detailed reports on business development activities.
  8. Validate product features with clients to ensure market fit.
  9. Support product delivery and engineering teams to build solutions aligned with client needs.
Essential experience and skills:
  • Significant sales or business development experience targeting institutional or wealth management clients, especially in private markets or alternative investments.
  • Experience in client engagement for asset management or financial infrastructure organizations.
  • Proven experience in digital asset solutions or services within fintech or financial services.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances.
  • Knowledge of asset workflows, both traditional and digital, in public and private markets.
  • Understanding of digital assets like tokenized securities, stablecoins, and cryptocurrencies is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology applications in business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
