Job summary

Carnival UK is recruiting a Senior Manager, Fleet People Performance to lead onboard HR excellence across the P&O Cruises and Cunard fleet. The role requires regular travel with about 25% time onboard vessels to coach, support, and align with People and Brand standards.

You will support fleet-level performance, develop capability through coaching, and act as the ship-shore interface, ensuring compliance and strong stakeholder engagement in a dynamic, 24/7 operation.

Carnival UK is in search of a Senior Manager, Fleet People Performance, who is crucial in supporting our People direction and nurturing a high-performing team across our vessels.

Role Overview

The Fleet People Performance team oversees the onboard HR service across the P&O Cruises and Cunard fleet, ensuring a consistent, high-quality and commercially focused People service across all vessels.

This role requires regular travel to our fleet, with approximately 25% of time spent onboard vessels to provide in-person coaching, support, stakeholder engagement and operational oversight.

Key accountabilities include:

• Provide fleet-level oversight, support and performance management to onboard HR Managers, setting annual goals and ensuring alignment with People and Brand strategy and standards.
• Build capability through coaching, feedback and structured development, driving consistency and continuous improvement across the onboard HR community.
• Act as a key interface between ship and shore, strengthening relationships through coaching, communication and trust, and stepping into onboard HR leadership roles when required.
• Monitor key onboard workforce compliance and performance indicators, Crew Office processes and onboard learning delivery, proactively identifying risks and ensuring timely resolution.

Requirements: Your Expertise and Leadership

• Broad generalist HR knowledge and the ability to provide pragmatic, confident advice on complex People matters.
• A strong understanding of shipboard environments, including their operational pressures, cultural considerations and team dynamics.
• Experience of coaching methodologies and tools that support team development, cohesion and performance.
• The ability to interpret workforce indicators and broader business performance themes to inform decisions and workforce solutions.

Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as a CUK06, offered as a full-time position, on a 12month fixed term contract basis, we offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
