Our Chipping Sodbury office is located near Yate, a market town with many attractions. The office is nestled within Yate, in the heart of rural surroundings, providing an idyllic setting for a workspace. Its proximity to both the M4 and M5 ensures easy connectivity and convenience. The role involves overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts and coordinating P&Ls for allocated business lines to ensure high-quality, accurate reporting that is well-understood by users.

The successful candidate will lead and develop teams of subject matter experts, sharing best practices and knowledge across the business. They will work closely with the business and wider finance teams to meet business needs.

Responsibilities include proactively standardising processes, focusing on processing efficiency and process standardisation across business lines.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ownership of the preparation of monthly management accounts for designated process areas, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.
  2. Managing a team of part-qualified accountants, providing challenges and development opportunities.
  3. Optimising resource utilisation and task coverage for effective working practices.
  4. Collaborating with Business Line Controlling, Business Analysts, and field teams to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounts.
  5. Building effective relationships with site and management teams, addressing queries, and providing training on accounts.
  6. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings through optimisation.
  7. Analyzing and resolving diverse queries from the business, supporting team capabilities.
  8. Promoting process improvements and maintaining high levels of control and adherence to procedures.
Internal Controls / Internal Audit
  • Co-ordinate activities related to internal controls and internal audits at the SSC, ensuring deadlines are met.
