Job summary
An exciting opportunity has risen within the R&D finance team to join as a Senior Management Accountant (2 year fixed term)to support and provide sound financial management service to the UK DTN. This post is an ideal opportunity to gain experience in R&D Finance through secondment. The UK DTN is funded via the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and directly sponsored by DHSC. Just under £50 million was awarded to UCLH with the aim to build capacity in early phase clinical trials in Dementia across the whole of the UK. The UK DTN aims to make early phase Dementia trials available to all patients across the country by building capacity in at least 20 UK DTN member sites covering all four nations.
Main duties of the jobThe UK DTN Senior Management Accountant will provide advice to UK DTN member sites on financial management and governance requirements according to individual site sub-contracts.
Responsible for the delivery of monthly management accounts closedown, ensuring that timely reconciliations, variance analyses & forecasting are delivered to expected timescales & standards.
Act as the designated Financial Management representatives at service management and operational meetings.
In conjunction with the Deputy Head of Finance, take the financial lead on developing specific business plans and presenting these to management including UK DTN Leadership team.
Identifying opportunities for financial efficiencies and high-lighting areas of risk and ensuring these are closely monitored.
Provide and present complex financial management information and advice to internal and external stakeholders.

In particular, you will have a good understanding of NHS finance and will have the ability to maintain a range of intricate financial arrangements with NHS and non-NHS organisations including ISEH, HCA and UCL.
