Job summary

Mackie Myers, in partnership with a rapidly growing business in Bicester, is seeking a Management Accountant to join the finance team. You will produce monthly management accounts, support budgeting and forecasting, maintain controls, and contribute to cashflow and statutory reporting.

The ideal candidate is part-qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent), has strong Excel skills, experience with ERP/finance systems, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach with manufacturing/stock exposure.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified and actively studying towards ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
• Strong understanding of UK accounting principles, including VAT compliance
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
• Experience using ERP or finance systems
• Highly organized, proactive and detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
• Manufacturing or stock experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and reconcile variances
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory and audit requirements
• Maintain and update weekly cashflow forecasts and analyse variances
• Support budgeting and forecasting with management liaison
• Contribute to systems improvements and act as systems administrator
• Ensure stock records are accurate and manage stock takes
• Provide cover for AP, AR, and banking activities as required
• Work towards professional accounting qualification

Mackie Myers have partnered with a rapidly growing business in Bicester to appoint a Management Accountant into their expanding finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a period of growth.

The Role

The Management Accountant is responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, maintaining strong financial controls and preparing weekly cashflow forecasts. The role will also support statutory reporting, audit requirements, stock accounting and business partnering, while contributing to continuous improvements across finance systems and processes.

Main Duties

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts
