Job summary

NC Associates are partnering with a well-established organisation in Macclesfield to recruit an experienced Management Accountant. You will produce monthly management accounts, assist budgeting and forecasting, and provide meaningful financial analysis to drive business performance.

This role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary (£40,000 – £48,000 DOE) plus benefits, study support, pension and career progression within a supportive finance team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role.
• ACCA / CIMA Part Qualified, Finalist, Newly Qualified or Qualified by Experience.
• Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships across the business.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• A proactive and commercially focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and detailed management information.
• Produce monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports.
• Post journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Complete balance sheet and control account reconciliations.
• Investigate variances and provide financial commentary.
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Produce KPI reports and financial analysis for senior management.
• Work closely with operational teams to provide commercial insight.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Support external audit and year-end statutory accounts process.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and processes.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects across the wider finance function.

NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing organisation based in Macclesfield to recruit an experienced Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, finalist, newly qualified or qualified‑by‑experience accountant looking to join a successful business and play a key role within the finance function.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing meaningful financial analysis to help drive business performance. The role offers excellent exposure across the wider organisation and genuine opportunities for long‑term career development.

Management Accountant Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts and detailed management information

• Producing monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports

• Posting journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation

• Completing balance sheet and control account reconciliations

• Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting processes

Management Accountant Experience Required

To be successful in your application, you must have the following:

• Previous experience within a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant position

• ACCA / CIMA Part Qualified, Finalist, Newly Qualified or Qualified by Experience

• Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts

• Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations

• Experience working within a commercial environment

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar

• Power BI or other financial reporting experience

• Experience of business partnering with non‑finance stakeholders
