NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing organisation based in Macclesfield to recruit an experienced Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, finalist, newly qualified or qualified‑by‑experience accountant looking to join a successful business and play a key role within the finance function.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing meaningful financial analysis to help drive business performance. The role offers excellent exposure across the wider organisation and genuine opportunities for long‑term career development.
Preparing monthly management accounts and detailed management information
Producing monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports
Posting journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Completing balance sheet and control account reconciliations
Investigating variances and providing financial commentary
Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
Producing KPI reports and financial analysis for senior management
Working closely with operational teams to provide commercial insight
Supporting month‑end and year‑end reporting processes
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Supporting the external audit and year‑end statutory accounts process
Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and processes
Assisting with ad‑hoc projects across the wider finance function
To be successful in your application, you must have the following:
Previous experience within a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant position
ACCA / CIMA Part Qualified, Finalist, Newly Qualified or Qualified by Experience
Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts
Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
A proactive and commercially focused approach
Desirable:
Experience working within a commercial environment
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
Power BI or other financial reporting experience
Experience of business partnering with non‑finance stakeholders
