Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for residential blocks in Croydon. You will oversee day-to-day repair work, manage maintenance tasks, and ensure adherence to safety standards and budgetary guidelines.

You will monitor preventative maintenance, supervise external contractors, and coordinate with the Facilities Manager to sustain asset lifecycles. The role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach and availability for on-call support.

Qualifications

• Building maintenance experience in a domestic residential environment or related field.
• Experience developing and maintaining risk assessments and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership end to end.
• Ability to supervise contractors and suppliers effectively.
• Cost-conscious approach to repairs without compromising quality.
• Positive, adaptable team player with flexibility for on-call/overtime.
• Excellent communication and customer service in a client-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and ensures completion of work orders from resident requests within set timeframes and standards.
• Monitors building services to ensure plant/equipment reach expected life span; flags defects with costed actions.
• Supports turnover process by inspecting apartments and coordinating maintenance work.
• Schedules and oversees vendors/contractors; ensures RAMS, permits, and materials are in place.
• Shows leadership in ongoing maintenance planning and KPI achievement.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates withFacilities Manager to stay within budget.
