Job summary

Recruitment Co. in Birmingham seeks a senior Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at a major energy facility. You will drive maintenance strategy, plant reliability and outages, with responsibility for CMMS, budgets and a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

You will oversee a hands-on leadership role across mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled maintenance, ensuring compliance, readiness for outages and continuous improvement in asset performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Team Leader.
• Experience in an industrial process environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with CMMS, PPM, backlog management and maintenance planning.
• Outage planning and contractor management experience.
• Strong fault-finding and root-cause investigation skills.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets, procurement and spares.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team across mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled maintenance.
• Own CMMS, PPM and maintenance backlog.
• Prioritise maintenance activity with Operations based on plant risk.
• Coordinate breakdown response and safe return to service.
• Plan and deliver outages.
• Investigate recurring failures and drive root cause improvements.
• Manage contractors, work quality and compliance.
• Control maintenance spend, procurement and critical spares.
• Manage statutory inspections including PSSR, LOLER and COSHH.
• Ensure work follows Permit-to-Work and isolation procedures.
• Support plant availability and long-term asset performance.
