Job summary

Drnewitt is seeking a Senior Engineer in Staffordshire to lead maintenance and support a busy food manufacturing operation. The role remains hands-on while deputising for the Maintenance Manager when needed, coordinating maintenance activities and improving reliability.

The position offers £47,000–£50,000 per annum, a Monday–Friday pattern, and opportunities to grow into broader engineering leadership within an established site.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition qualification is desirable.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across production equipment.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure safe operation.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with daily coordination of engineering workloads.
• Prioritise breakdowns and maintenance to meet production requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced engineers.
• Maintain records of breakdowns, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Support root-cause analysis to improve equipment reliability.
