Job summary

AB Agri Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our site at Fradley, Staffordshire. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support operations to maximise yields and efficiencies. The role requires a multiskilled mechanical/electrical background and proven maintenance experience.

The position is a permanent, day-shift role (38.5 hours/week). You will work with the Head of Maintenance to uphold safety, feed safety and quality standards while minimising downtime.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled engineer with Mechanical/Electrical background.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems.
• 18th Edition presence.
• Strong H&S knowledge and communication skills.
• Structured problem solving and fault finding.
• Experience in FMCG/Lean environments.
• Food industry experience is valued.
• IOSH or equivalent safety qualification.
• IPAF, PASMA and forklift operations exposure.
• BOAS and confined space awareness.
• Welding or fabrication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote safety learning opportunities.
• Promote Target Zero and safety culture.
• Maintain site, cover reactive and planned work, fault finding, and small improvements to reduce downtime.
• Support Head of Maintenance to uphold health, feed safety and quality standards.
• Risk assess all work and isolate equipment safely.
• Execute PPM tasks per schedule (CMMS Agility).
• Coordinate downtime with Operators for maintenance.
• Manage spare parts stock and supplier orders.
• Identify cost-saving or process-improvement opportunities.
• Assist with contractor control and permits to work.
• Ensure understanding of Feed Safety across teams.
• Champion feed safety and quality aspirations.
