Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer in Bridgwater, Somerset to join a market-leading food manufacturing business. You will maximise equipment reliability, reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement across the site.

The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and supporting production teams to improve uptime. A recognised engineering apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC or equivalent are preferred.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out root cause analysis in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of food manufacturing and production equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Supporting production teams to maximise machinery uptime and operational efficiency.
• Delivering preventative maintenance activities to minimise breakdowns.
• Assisting with the installation, commissioning and optimisation of new equipment.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and food industry regulations.
• Contributing to continuous improvement projects across the site.
