Job summary

RE Resource Group is seeking an experienced Machinist in the UK for a permanent on-site role in a well-established engineering business. You will machine new and used components, primarily with manual centre lathes, and work on shafts, sleeves and spacers, plus impellers, housings and pump casings.

The ideal candidate will hold a time-served apprenticeship, have strong experience with conventional lathes, drills and milling machines, and be proficient at reading drawings and using measuring

Qualifications

• Time-served craft apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Strong experience using conventional lathes, drills and milling machines.
• Ability to machine components to engineering drawings with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual centre lathes to manufacture shafts, spacers and similar components.
• Machining cast components such as impellers, bearing housings and pump casings.
• Use CNC lathes where required and perform general milling and keyways/slots.
• Measure components to drawing tolerances and ensure quality workmanship.
• Maintain workshop safety, housekeeping and collaborate with colleagues.
