Job summary

Manpower UK in Abingdon is seeking a Skilled Machinist with strong manual lathe experience to join a global leader in high‑specification, low‑temperature engineering equipment. You will produce precision components and work from engineering drawings to exacting specifications.

You will turn, bore, trepan, rough and finish using stainless steel, alloys, brass, copper and plastics; perform routine maintenance and support fabrication and assembly tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years machining experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable.
• Able to work efficiently alone and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manual lathe machining to produce precision components to tight tolerances.
• Reading engineering drawings and working accurately to specification.
• Turning, boring, trepanning, roughing and finishing operations.
• Routine maintenance of machinery and tools.
• Support wider fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organised work environment.
• Work independently and as part of a small, skilled team.
