Job summary

Matchtech in Southampton is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our expanding workshop team, handling the manufacture, refurbishment and repair of components to precise specifications with a strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

You will set up and operate manual lathes and milling/boring machines, interpret drawings and technical docs, inspect parts with precision instruments, and contribute to tooling development while working to production targets in a

Qualifications

• Secondary education (Plus Two) or equivalent.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related qualification preferred.
• Experience in manual machining.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling and boring machines.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Manufacture, refurbish and repair components to tolerances.
• Carry out inspection and measurement with precision instruments.
• Fault finding and problem solving as required.
• Support tooling development and machining solutions.
• Collaborate with supervisors to achieve targets and maintain safety.
