Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Technical Supervisor to oversee Mechanical and Electrical maintenance across the Dartford River Crossing and tunnel. You will lead a team of M&E Technicians, manage subcontractors, and drive safe, compliant delivery of maintenance activities.

The role includes 4-on, 4-off shifts (4 days and 4 nights) and responsibilities for safety, risk assessments, and cost control, with a focus on continuous improvement and environmental best practices.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical or electrical qualification.
• CSCS Supervisor card and SSSTS or SMSTS.
• Experience in highways or tunnel M&E maintenance (including HV/LV systems and pumps).

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems at the Dartford River Crossing and tunnel.
• Manage work activities efficiently, prioritising methodology, safety, and timely completion.
• Collaborate with M&E staff and subcontractors to resolve issues related to methodology and safety, ensuring safe execution of works.
• Prepare and deliver work briefings on methodology, hazards, and control measures.
• Conduct detailed debriefs after each shift to identify issues and integrate lessons learned.
• Review reports, identify priorities, and conduct pre-site inspections for planning.
