Balfour Beatty plc invites applications for a Site Engineer to support the Design Engineering team on the Lower Thames Crossing project. The role involves setting out, production of sketches, and ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates will have NEC contract experience, a relevant qualification, and a Full UK driving licence. The project emphasizes sustainable practices, community engagement, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management qualification.
• Proven experience in a similar role on large scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with NEC 3/4 contracts.
• Knowledge of construction regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Full UK drivers licence
• A fit for work medical
• CSCS
• BPSS Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Wellbeing: Fully comply with LTC Beyond Zero Harm and the Golden Rules, produce works package plans and record weekly safety tours.
• Programme and Production: communicate daily productivity targets and maintain a visual notice board with actions.
• Engineering & Design Management: carry out basic setting out using primary control from the project surveyor; produce sketches for Section Engineers.
• Quality Assurance: provide specifications and ensure clear understanding of requirements.
• Community: engage with stakeholders and participate in community events.
• Environmental Sustainability & Carbon: consider environmental and low carbon commitments in daily work.
• Procurement: raise requisitions for plant and materials as needed.
• Handover: assist with redlines and as-built drawings.
