Job summary

Nscale, the GPU cloud for AI, seeks a Reliability Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) to support its EMEA data centre estate. You’ll be the on-site technical escalation point for M&E systems and help set maintenance baselines.

This UK role requires regular travel across Europe/Nordics, with focus on high-density AI cooling and power. You’ll perform design reviews, audits, RCA/CAPA, and coach site engineers to improve reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

Strong background in building services engineering for critical environments.
Experience with data centre cooling systems and power distribution.
Experience in M&E design reviews and standards compliance.
Experience conducting technical audits of colocation facilities.
Capable of signing off on change requests and managing live incidents.

Responsibilities

M&E technical escalation for on-site operations across all mechanical and electrical systems.
Set and maintain maintenance standards and baselines.
Provide input into procurement and technical services contracts.
Carry out M&E design reviews at concept and detailed design stages.
Review vendor submissions and O&M documentation against standards.
Provide technical support to AI Infra teams for high-density cooling and power.
Own change approvals and risk assessment for live sites.
Lead RCA/CAPA following incidents and drive corrective actions.
Conduct site audits and track findings through to closure.
Develop and deliver technical training for site Operations teams.
