Job summary

Rec2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Recruitment Consultant to lead and develop a blue-collar M&E construction desk across the UK. You will blend business development, account management and delivery to recruit skilled trades for major infrastructure projects.

The role focuses on building relationships with contractors and clients, growing temporary workforce supply, and driving profitability within a busy, compliant recruitment environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Recruitment Consultant or Senior Recruitment Consultant in blue-collar M&E, construction or technical recruitment.
• Proven track record of managing temporary labour requirements.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical trades and site qualifications.
• Demonstrable experience developing client relationships and generating new business.
• Ability to manage recruitment delivery and commercial account development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a profitable blue-collar M&E recruitment desk.
• Build relationships with M&E contractors, subcontractors and infrastructure clients.
• Identify and secure new temporary labour requirements through proactive business development.
• Manage existing accounts and increase the company’s supply across current projects.
• Recruit skilled M&E tradespeople including electricians, plumbers, pipefitters and supervisors.
• Source candidates via database, job boards, referrals and direct approaches.
• Screen and qualify workers before submission or placement.
• Negotiate pay rates and margins.
• Coordinate worker bookings, site starts and extensions.
• Maintain contact with clients, site teams and temporary workers.
• Ensure workers are cleared before starting in coordination with compliance.
• Monitor weekly gross profit, worker numbers, margins and requirements.
• Maintain accurate candidate, client and vacancy data in systems.
• Represent the business professionally at client meetings and site visits.
