Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a £100m+ Darlington project. You will own the M&E package, manage a small team and work closely with site and design colleagues to control costs and maximise value.

The role commands wide responsibility, including reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, with hybrid site/remote working and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Take overall commercial responsibility for the M&E installation.
• Lead and develop a small commercial team (1-2 AQS and a QS).
• Manage commercial performance from pre-installation to completion.
• Coordinate with M&E engineers, planners, and project managers on scope, change and risk.
• Oversee subcontractors and supply-chain relationships.
• Prepare cost reporting, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Manage variations, valuations, and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with planning and project management to understand programme impacts.
• Support procurement to ensure robust packages.
