Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking skilled mechanical and electrical engineers to join our team at London Heathrow Airport to maintain baggage and cargo handling systems. You will perform maintenance duties in compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards and team working practices.

This permanent role requires time served apprenticeship or equivalent, City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in mechanical/electrical maintenance, and experience with CMMS systems and PLC diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
• City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or above in maintenance mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Able to obtain and maintain a full airside pass.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or CI project delivery experience.
• Good interpersonal and precise written/verbal communication at all levels.
• Proficient with CMMS systems and reading drawings.
• Able to plan, prioritize workload and work overtime.
• Desirable: 18th edition, ONC/HNC, multiskilled, PLCs and diagnostics, training/coaching.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure right first time repairs.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and carry out effective corrective maintenance regimes.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in field devices including motor controllers, sensors, and scanners.
• Enter all work carried out and parts used into the Maximo system.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and carry out root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers face-to-face, via email, or on the phone.
• Ensure that contract service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved and improved.
• Provide cover for other service technicians and shifts when necessary.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and maintain a tidy working environment.
