Job summary

ISS Labour Ltd in Scotland is seeking an experienced M&E Construction Manager to lead on a major Battery Energy Storage System project. You will oversee mechanical and electrical installation on site, coordinate with management, engineering and commissioning teams, and drive the project programme to high safety and quality standards.

The role requires proven M&E construction management experience in BESS or substation environments, with strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, installation sequencing

Qualifications

• SMSTS certificate required.
• CSCS card appropriate to role/site.
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety training.
• Proven M&E construction management experience in BESS or substation.
• Knowledge of HV/LV systems and permit-to-work procedures.
• Experience coordinating electrical testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• On-site oversight of mechanical and electrical installation activities.
• Manage subcontractors and installation teams on site.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering and commissioning groups.
• Monitor progress against programme milestones.
• Ensure works meet specs, drawings and ITPs.
• Maintain high health, safety and environmental standards.
• Identify and resolve construction issues and challenges.
• Plan inspections, testing and pre-commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with standards, procedures and regulations.
• Participate in risk assessments and method statement reviews.
