Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Scotland is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. Immediate start on a long-term civils contract with a focus on safety, quality and schedule adherence.

The role requires strong leadership of site teams, subcontractors and comprehensive civil works knowledge, including earthworks, foundations and coordination with electrical HV packages. DOE rate applies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Manager in civils, groundworks or infrastructure.
• Experience on BESS, substations, renewable energy or major infra projects is desirable.
• Strong understanding of groundworks, earthworks and concrete construction.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
• CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid certification.

• Manage day-to-day site operations across the BESS project.

• Manage groundworks, earthworks and concrete works.
• Oversee battery foundations, transformer bases and equipment foundations.
• Coordinate drainage, access roads, ducting and cable routes.

• Monitor progress, quality and health & safety.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Scotland.

This is a long-term opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks and energy infrastructure, with experience managing large-scale civils packages.

The Role:

• Managing day-to-day site operations across the BESS project
• Supervising subcontractors and site teams
• Managing groundworks, earthworks and concrete works
• Overseeing battery foundations, transformer bases and equipment foundations
• Managing drainage, access roads, ducting and cable routes
• Coordinating civils works with electrical and HV contractors
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to specification
• Reviewing RAMS and site documentation
• Monitoring progress, quality and health & safety
• Coordinating with the wider project team and specialist contractors
• Reporting into the Project/Construction Manager

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civils, groundworks or infrastructure
• Previous experience on BESS, substations, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of groundworks, earthworks and concrete construction
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts
