Job summary

Lead Careers Ltd in Gloucestershire is seeking an Associate Landscape Architect to strengthen the LVIA and landscape planning team. You will lead landscape assessments, manage projects from appraisal through submission, and mentor junior colleagues while developing client relationships across the UK.

You will work within a friendly, experienced studio on a variety of site types, with flexible and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.
• Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
• Strong experience undertaking LVIA and landscape planning work within the UK and a thorough understanding of landscape character assessment and the UK planning system.
• Experience managing projects and delivering assessments independently.
• Excellent report writing, analytical and technical skill and confidence undertaking site surveys, viewpoint selection and photography.
• Experience liaising with clients and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Leading and preparing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA).
• Landscape character and townscape assessments.
• Managing site appraisals, fieldwork and viewpoint photography.
• Overseeing the preparation of ZTVs and supporting visual material.
• Baseline research and landscape character analysis.
• Assessment of landscape and visual effects.
• Preparing and reviewing technical reports and planning documentation.
• Managing projects from initial appraisal through to submission.
• Coordinating with planning, ecology, architecture and other environmental disciplines.
• Liaising directly with clients, local authorities and wider consultant teams.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Contributing to fee proposals, project programmes and the delivery of work to agreed deadlines.
