Job summary

Fugro is seeking a Logistics Controller to own logistics and customs across UK operations, based at Aberdeen or Wallingford. You will lead day-to-day activities, ensure compliance, optimise processes and manage logistics partners.

Ideal candidates have significant freight logistics and customs experience, strong leadership, and robust IT skills to drive improvements while maintaining governance and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in freight logistics and customs operations.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics compliance.
• Experience managing third party logistics providers and contractor performance.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation requirements across land, air and sea.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Advanced IT skills with logistics systems, databases and spreadsheets.
• A full driving licence.
• Forklift certification and Dangerous Goods Transport qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day to day logistics and customs activities across designated business areas and sites.
• Ensure all logistics transactions are accurately recorded and maintained within company systems and registers.
• Provide guidance on logistics best practice, customs requirements and international freight movements.
• Monitor regulatory and customs changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage relationships and performance of freight forwarders and logistics service providers.
• Maintain licenses, guarantees and regulatory arrangements related to logistics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics operations and reduce costs.
• Support development and performance management of logistics personnel.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, QHSSE and operational teams to deliver best-in-class services.
