Job summary

Akari Care Limited is seeking an Activities Coordinator in Gateshead to design and run a diverse activities programme for elderly residents, fostering social interaction and inclusion.

You will collaborate with Home Manager and teams to deliver person-centred activities, support offsite trips, and help with fundraising and budgeting for materials. A caring, adaptable, and engaging approach is essential to enrich residents' lives.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a care home or similar environment.
• Previous experience in an activities role within elder care.
• A caring nature with a personal approach.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes at short notice.
• Ability to work under pressure while remaining warm and engaging.
• Interpersonal skills to motivate colleagues and residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied activities programme for residents.
• Engage residents to socialise and participate in events.
• Work with Home Manager and wider teams to coordinate activities.
• Support offsite outings and accompany residents when possible.
• Assist with fundraising initiatives and budgeting for entertainment and materials.
