Job summary

Clyde & Co are recruiting a Paralegal / Senior Paralegal for the Volume Motor team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will handle a defendant caseload of litigated matters, draft pleadings, value personal injury claims, and liaise with solicitors, courts, and insurers.

A fast-paced environment requires accuracy, organisational strength, and timely reporting. The role demands prior Motor/RTA litigation experience, professional conduct, and the ability to meet deadlines while developing client

Responsibilities

  • Handle a caseload of c70 files at any one time.
  • Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
  • Draft all pleadings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
  • Assess claims for special damages.
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
  • Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
  • Attend conferences with counsel when required.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
  • Maintain strong organisation and use a case management system.
  • Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Paralegal / Senior Paralegal - Volume Motor Team - Glasgow or Edinburgh office

We are looking to recruit a Paralegal / Senior Paralegal to join our specialist Volume Motor team based in the Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a background of Motor/RTA fee earning and will be competent of running a defendant caseload of litigated matters.

Expected To
  • Handle a caseload of c70 files at any one time.
  • Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
  • Draft all pleadings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
  • Assess claims for special damages.
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
  • Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
  • Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
  • Attend conferences with counsel when required.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
  • Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.
  • Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous Motor/RTA litigation experience is essential.
