Job summary

Clyde & Co is recruiting a Paralegal / Senior Paralegal for its Volume Motor team based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. The role focuses on running a defendant caseload of litigated matters with a background in Motor/RTA work.

You will manage a busy caseload, draft pleadings, value claims, and negotiate settlements while liaising with solicitors, courts, and insurers. Excellent organisation and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Motor/RTA litigation experience is essential.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast pace environment.
• Professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of approximately 70 files at any one time.
• Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
• Draft all pleadings and prepare witness statements for use in court.
• Value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
• Assess claims for special damages and negotiate settlements where appropriate.
• Demonstrate strong telephone negotiation skills.
• Attend conferences with counsel when required.
• Liaise with claimants' solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and insurer clients.
• Maintain case management system updates and timely Management Information.
• Adhere to client SLA reporting requirements and internal quality standards.

Paralegal / Senior Paralegal - Volume Motor Team - Glasgow or Edinburgh office

We are looking to recruit a Paralegal / Senior Paralegal to join our specialist Volume Motor team based in the Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a background of Motor/RTA fee earning and will be competent of running a defendant caseload of litigated matters.

Expected to:

• Handle a caseload of c70 files at any one time.


• Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.


• Draft all pleadings.


• Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.


• Assess claims for special damages.


• Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.


• Have strong telephone negotiation skills.


• Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.


• Attend conferences with counsel when required.


• Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.


• Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.


• Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.


• Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.


• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
