Job summary

Riverlane is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to own and grow our HPC and core Linux infrastructure in Cambridge. You will work closely with the Infrastructure Team to deliver a resilient, scalable environment for today and tomorrow.

You will manage the HPC cluster, apply security hardening, optimize storage and network performance, and drive automation with Ansible and Python. This hybrid role offers a competitive package including bonus and equity.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering infrastructure in fast-paced engineering environments.
• Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and hardening.
• Hands-on with job schedulers (Slurm) and distributed compute environments.
• Strong understanding of network file storage for HPC workloads.
• Proficient with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Bash).
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the HPC cluster, including compute nodes and storage.
• Lead deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of HPC tooling and queues.
• Monitor performance and ensure high availability of HPC resources with observability tools.
• Maintain network file storage for throughput and latency.
• Automate routine tasks and improve self-service capabilities for users.
