Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator (Linux & HPC) to own the Linux enterprise and HPC platforms. The role focuses on Linux engineering, HPC compute, SLURM workload management, and cluster provisioning with NVIDIA Base Command Manager and CycleCloud.

You will diagnose cross-platform issues and operate with minimal supervision in a hybrid UK environment. The position emphasizes cloud/co-located HPC operations, storage integration with NetApp, backup and security hardening, and

Qualifications

Substantial hands-on experience administering Linux in complex enterprise or research environments.
Practical experience supporting HPC clusters and diagnosing issues across compute, scheduler, storage, and network layers.
Strong SLURM administration and workload troubleshooting.
Bash or scripting language with automation experience.
Experience with Linux performance analysis, patching, and security hardening.
Experience with shared file services and NFS troubleshooting.
Knowledge of enterprise networking fundamentals.
