Senior Linux Engineer - Public Sector Cloud & Automation

Job summary

ANS Group is seeking an experienced Linux Engineer to deliver advanced technical support for public sector customers across dedicated and private Secure Cloud environments, with a focus on Linux infrastructure.

You will act as the senior escalation point for complex incidents, owning issues through to resolution, while improving docs, automation and processes and sharing your Linux knowledge with engineers across the team.

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux administration experience in production environments.
• Experience with RHEL/AlmaLinux/Ubuntu or similar distributions.
• 3rd line support experience and familiarity with virtualization (VMware).
• Knowledge of load-balancing, monitoring and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as the 3rd line Linux escalation point, troubleshooting and resolving complex incidents.
• Administering, maintaining and optimising Linux servers across enterprise distributions.
• Supporting dedicated and private cloud platforms, including VMware, high availability, disaster recovery and load-balancing technologies such as NGINX and HAProxy.
• Troubleshooting infrastructure and connectivity issues across Linux services, networking, DNS, SSL certificates and TCP/IP.
• Driving service improvements through automation, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, documentation and mentoring of other engineers.
