Utilise Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Lighting Engineer to lead highway lighting design and larger-scale electrical infrastructure projects from our Maidstone HQ. The role covers design, delivery, asset planning, and supplier governance within a major highways program.

The position is permanent, 37 hours per week, offering a salary around £55,000 plus a company car, pension, and bonus schemes. You will influence safety, sustainability, and lifecycle management across critical assets.

Qualificações

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with a recognised institution is desirable.
• Experience delivering highway lighting and electrical schemes.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, assessment, and delivery of highway lighting and electrical projects from early concept through to handover.
• Identify asset needs, assess condition data, and propose early intervention strategies for renewals.
• Conduct design reviews, compliance checks, and value management while applying sustainable materials and buildability.

• Monitor progress, maintain asset data, and report milestones and risks.

Senior Lighting EngineerKey Responsibilities

• Lead the design, assessment, and implementation of highway lighting and electrical infrastructure projects from early-stage solution development through to delivery.
• Identify asset needs, evaluate condition data, and formulate early intervention strategies for renewals and improvements in line with established policies and priorities.
• Conduct rigorous design reviews, compliance checks, and value management assessments, incorporating modern techniques, sustainable materials, and buildability considerations.
• Manage design consultants, contractors, and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor scheme delivery progress, maintain accurate asset data databases, and report on program milestones and risk mitigations.
• Drive initiatives focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, and network safety.

Key Requirements

• Qualifications: Degree, HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional membership with a relevant engineering institution (ICE, IET, ILP), working toward or holding Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) status.
• Proven experience delivering highway lighting and electrical schemes, with a deep understanding of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and CDM 2015 regulations.
• Solid working knowledge of asset condition assessment, degradation modeling, and early solution development.
• Demonstrable track record managing design consultants, contractor performance, and budget/program governance.
• Valid UK driving license (maximum of 3 points).
